Tree of Light
For a sustainable and inspiring work environment, the architectural firm Bkpunt designed an innovative office where light takes center stage. The lighting concept is inspired by Piet Mondrian’s famous “tree structures,” particularly his transition from realistic to abstract and geometric interpretations.
The project merges nature, architecture, work, and flexibility. Instead of traditional ceiling lighting, a modular lighting network was integrated directly into the architecture, created with the custom Superlinea system with Spots by Exenia. The luminous lines, straight and branching like tree limbs, recall Mondrian’s abstract compositions and, while evoking natural growth, preserve a geometric character in harmony with the office’s essential architecture.
The result is a space that demonstrates how abstracting natural forms can evolve into an innovative and functional lighting system, capable of combining art, design, and well-being. Tree of Light is an environment that inspires, stimulates, and enhances the everyday experience of those who work within it.
