BooM Nursery School
Growing in a burst of green
The new nursery school in Gorle, Bergamo, was designed with the aim of creating safe, welcoming, and stimulating environments for early childhood. In this context, lighting plays a central role. The lighting design was conceived to ensure high levels of visual comfort, support educational activities, and promote the daily well-being of children and staff, while fully complying with the sustainability requirements set by the CAM Decree.
Functional and welcoming lighting
The lighting system integrates recessed, ceiling-mounted, and pendant fixtures, calibrated according to the needs of each space: from classrooms and common areas to rest zones and internal circulation paths. The light is uniform, glare-free, and adjustable thanks to DALI technology, which automatically adapts the intensity according to natural light levels.
An educational and harmonious concept
Light becomes an educational tool: the fixtures not only ensure functionality and safety but also contribute to the character of the space. Their shapes, sizes, and colors are designed to integrate harmoniously with the building’s architecture and materials, stimulating children’s visual perception and facilitating the identification of different areas.
Sustainability and efficient management
The lighting system is designed to reduce energy consumption and ensure ease of operation and maintenance over time, integrating seamlessly with the rationalized electrical system of a NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Building). The choice of Exenia fixtures—including PIN, TEDDY, IO LED, BOLA LED, YOMA, and NABOO has created a luminous, balanced, and long-lasting environment.
Final result
The project has transformed the nursery into a bright and welcoming place, where light accompanies the various activities of the day without being intrusive, creating a spatial experience consistent with principles of architectural quality, sustainability, and educational care.
